Mom is sick, but the week must go on

Today Ben and Blair's daycare went trick or treating at the Indian Hospital. All Ben could say this morning was "rrrrrr" like a dinosaur. They are going again to the Comanche Nation Complex tomorrow.
Blair wasn't able to go...still too young, so JD let her rep OSU stuff today.

As most people know, this is Red Ribbon Week. Everyday the kids get to dress up according to that day's agenda. Today was dress from the 60's, 70's or 80's. Since I have been sick , we did not have much time to go out and get anything so Blake wore his dad's football jersey and letter jacket. He thought he was super cool. Also, Blake has went to level 1.4 on his reading. 1.0-1.4 in just little over 1 week. I told him how proud I was of him. When he sets his mind to something, he can do it. Plus, the incentive is that AR readers get a field trip to Incredible Pizza. I am sure that is helping!

As most of you know, I have been sick all week. I felt it coming on Sunday and by Monday afternoon, I was miserable. I went to the doctor yesterday and once again, I have strep. Every year I get it...even though my mom doesn't remember me getting it when I was younger...I have had it just about every year since 5th grade. I told my mom she was too busy with my sisters to worry about me!!! Anyway, I am feeling a little bit better today and plan on going back to work tomorrow. I would much rather be there than laying in bed!!! JD has been on kid duty, thank goodness, and I haven't had to lift a finger. What a saint!

We are looking forward to this weekend. Halloween and OSU vs Texas. Should be a blast!

Sister Sunday

My sisters came down today to hang out with us. They had not seen their niece and nephew and were having withdrawls. As you can tell, they wore Kim out.
We all watched the movie The Family That Preys. It was really good. Blake and Kathy snuggled in JD's chair to watch.

Kim has a look of "come on with the pictures". I told you, I must update the BLOG!

I have the coolest grandma in the world. Yesterday I was on the internet cruising for cute little dress ideas for Blair and ran across a pillowcase dress. I have a sewing machine that was my Great Grandma's, but I haven't learned to use it yet. I ran across a cute pattern and I emailed it to my Gma (grandma) and asked her what she thought and if she would be interested in making one for Blair. Today she emailed me the picture of the finished product, and it only took her half a Dallas Cowboy football game to finish. Isn't she the greatest??? Also, my sisters today brought me a paper from my Gma today. It said "Jean's Life". She wrote a story about her life, upbringing and everything. It was so cool! I got to read about her as a little girl and how she met my Gpa. She made a copy for everyone in the family. What a legacy to pass on. I have the greatest grandparents ever!

Blake's 100

Blake had been really struggling with spelling, reading and writing. He is a total whiz when it comes to math and science. Well, after meeting with the teacher, we both made a game plan on how to improve Blake's grammar. And as you can see, he made his first 100 on a spelling test. JD and I told him how proud we are of him and to keep up the good work. His grandma, my momma, even sent him 10.00 which totally made his day and will hopefully help keep his motivation on his grammar.
This weekend we are going to hook up the WII....Blake is super excited.
JD and Blake are mowing today, his mom and our yard, and I have Jordyn, Jaylyn, Ben and Blair here...it is a mad house!!! They are running around having a blast, when they aren't tattling on each other!!!
Today OSU plays Baylor! Go Pokes!!! Hope I can watch the game in between watching the kiddos!!!

Rain, Rain go away....come again another day...

Well, when there is rain, there are no kids outside playing, which means they are all inside....running throught the house!!! When I pick up the kids from daycare, I also pick up Jordyn who now goes to daycare with them. They all came home and ran off their energy inside the house. Well, all I can say is, I WISH IT WASN'T RAINING!!!
Started my second 8 week classes, seem really interesting so far. Blake had another great day at reading, he is hoping to go to the next level tomorrow on the AR scale. Ben told me today, "No Mom, I can't reach it". Is this the starting of laziness? It was sitting right next to him, he was just so involved with Scooby Doo. Blair is having a rough couple of days. Her top teeth are coming in and she is fussy...all night also. So neither of us have been sleeping well.
Got an email from my Gma yesterday. She has carpul tunnel and she is going to meet with a specialist next month. They seem to think it is pretty bad, maybe surgery. I told her I would come to take of her, but she says that is my Gpa's job!!! Keep her in your prayers.

Blake's new "toy"

Well, we finally gave in. Blake has been wanting a WII for sometime now, it really increased with the begging when he visited Las Vegas and played with his cousins, and JD and I were hesitant because of being in front of the TV forever...which he would be...but Blake's grades have been great and his reading is improving daily. So today Blake took his birthday money and bought the WII. He is pretty stoked, and so is Ben. Ben doesn't know why but he is....
Bryan left for basic today....North Carolina bound...I am sure he will adjust.
Jordyn started school with Ben and Blair...she loved it!!!
Another 8 weeks of class started for me....here we go....May 2010!!!

Benjamin's Field Trip

Benjamin and his "apple"
Today Ben and Blair's daycare had a field trip to Cyril to a pumpkin patch. He got to pick out a pumpkin, go on a hay ride, feed animals and run around for awhile. He enjoyed himself and when I picked him up all he kept saying is "remember my apple". I couldn't figure out what he was talking about until his teacher told me he called the pumpkins apples. He now wants to eat his "apple". Oh Ben.
Blair was unable to attend. Little ones got to stay back and enjoy some R & R....
Blake had a great day at school...got a 95 on his math test and a 100 and 85 on his AR reading...go Blake...we will get there.
JD and I, well, we had a typical Monday. Is it over yet?

Football Weekend

Blair with her Bumpo and table...this is what she does during the game...
Ben with his sippy...he swears he is a big boy....

Jordyn and new cousin Brayden....

This weekend we have mainly stayed home to enjoy some football time. I am more college football while JD is more pro. We watched OU's loss yesterday, but surely enjoyed OSU's win!!! GO POKES!!! Today, JD is enjoying watching his Minnesota Vikings put a whoopen on the Ravens. Blake really likes Adrian Peterson...He always is saying, " I am going to play AP's position when I get older." Go ahead, Blake.

Yesterday we cooked out with the family and all got together to hangout with Bryan before he leaves for basic this week. All the kids were here and they played out back most of the afternoon.

I finished this first 8 weeks of the semester with 2 B's. My classes were Leading and Managing and Conflict Management. This next 8 weeks I am taking Markets and Shareholders and Advanced Business and Professional Speaking...yeah....May 2010 are you here yet?

Brittany's Birthday and Blake's Report Card

My beatiful birthday flowers.
My card reads:
Happy Birthday, Love Blake, Ben and Blair....and oh yeah, your husband too....

Yesterday we celebrated Brittany's birthday here at the house. She ordered what she wanted for dinner, cheddarwursts and chips, and we all sat around and watched our new favorite show, Flash Forward. She turned 24 yesterday.

Today we, JD and I, met with Blake's teacher Ms. Nunley for Parent Teacher Conference. Blake is really smart in Math, Science and Social Studies however he is having a hard time with reading. {any advice from my teacher friends would be appreciated!!!} She also informed us Blake runs the class. He is in always in the know and wants to be in all the business of everything....wonder where that comes from???? Other than focusing on his reading, he is doing quite well. The teacher is spending some one on one time with him each afternoon. She was real nice and appreciates Blake's helpfulness.

My Belated Birthday with Friends

Today I got to enjoy lunch with some of my friends from my old job, City National Bank. Glynda, Sara, Debbie, Mata and Sheena graced me with their presence today at Cracker Barrel. Lunch was full of catching up and laughs. They got me some great presents and I am really blessed to have such good friends. I got my birthday cards from my mom and Gma today. You know they are good cards when you tear up reading them!!! Thanks!!!

Blair and Ben went to their Memaw's today. Blair's fever went down and she isn't as fussy as last night. Ben had a blast watching Scooby Doo and playing with Memaw's puppies....

Blake gets to go on a field trip tomorrow for perfect attendance. He is going to Laugh Out Loud which is similair to Incredible Pizza. He is pretty stoked.

We found out today Bryan leaves for basic training on the 20th. He was supposed to leave on the 26th, but they moved him up. I think he is pretty excited.
Jordyn starts daycare at Ben and Blair's daycare next week. Ben and Jordyn's teacher is going to have a blast keeping up with the two of them!!!

The BIG 28!!!

Well, today was my 28th birthday, as well as my sisters 20th birthday. I was greeted this morning with cards from the kiddos and JD. They were so sweet. I also enjoyed all the phone calls and emails from my friends and family. My cell phone has been dead...literally...had to order a new one...so I have been without for a few days, but I was able to check my messages and enjoyed them. The people at my new job gave me a little celebration this afternoon and tomorrow I am going to lunch with the ladies from the bank. I am blessed with such wonderful people in my life. I had lunch with JD then came home to one of my favorite meals, already cooked...potato soup!!! Also a little surprise from Blake...a cake!

But there was a downside to the day. Blair came home from daycare with a 102.3 fever. I have a feeling it is due to her new teeth...however, we will keep an eye on it to make sure. She will stay at her Memaws tomorrow for much needed TLC.
Thanks again for all the birthday wishes!!!

Getting ready for Halloween

Blair is a ladybug...so sweet...

Ben's costume...He is a dinosaur...fits him perfectly

Blair with one of her many Halloween outfits...

We have been getting ready for Halloween for a couple of weeks now. I have purchased Ben and Blair's costume, but we are still in the process of getting Blake's costume. He is too old for the kiddy costumes and too young for the MATURE adult costumes. Any ideas would be welcomed. At work we decorated the office...I did a poor job on the web....but oh well, work with what you got. We also had Halloween gift bags left over from Blake's birthday that I am going to pass out at work. We have kids come to the office from the YMCA and trick or treat...I am sure they will enjoy them.

Starting a blog...be patient, it is my first...

Okay, so I thought to myself, I am constantly following friends blogs and thought...hey, I should start my own. With family spread all over, this is a way convenient way to keep in touch and let everyone know what is new with our fast paced, non stop life. Sometimes I feel guilty that I am not able to keep up with all my family and friends as much as I would like....so here is a start.
